Preserving heritage through music, research, and collaboration

وقّع رئيس الجامعة الأنطونيّة، الأب ميشال السغبيني، ورئيسة ملتقى الموسيقى المقاميّة، الأستاذة داليا رشاد، مذكّرة تفاهم في مجال الموسيقى المقاميّة.

تهدف مذكرة التفاهم إلى تعزيز التعاون الأكاديميّ والثقافيّ والفنّيّ في مجال الموسيقى المقاميّة، ودعم البحث العلميّ والإنتاج الفنّيّ والتبادل المعرفيّ، وتطوير مبادرات ومشاريع مشتركة تسهم في الحفاظ على التراث الموسيقيّ المقاميّ وتقاليده، والعمل على تعزيزها ونشرها على أسس علميّة وأكاديميّة موثوقة، بما يدعم دراسة الموسيقى المقاميّة وممارستها والتعريف بها، ويُسهم في استمراريّة هذا التراث وإيصاله إلى الأجيال القادمة. وتُنفّذ المشاريع والمبادرات المشتركة المنبثقة عن هذه المذكّرة تحت الإشراف الأكاديميّ والعلميّ والفنّيّ لعميد كلّيّة الموسيقى وعلم الموسيقى في الجامعة الأنطونيّة الدكتور نداء أبو مراد.

وجرى توقيع مذكرة التفاهم بحضور الأستاذ الدكتور نداء أبو مراد، عميد كلية الموسيقى وعلم الموسيقى في الجامعة الأنطونية، إلى جانب الدكتور هيّاف ياسين، والدكتورة ناتالي أبو جودة، والدكتور غسان سحاب من أعضاء هيئة التدريس بالكلية.

The Rector of Antonine University, Father Michel Saghbiny, and the President of Maqām Festival (Multaqā Al-Mūsīqā Al-Maqāmiyya), Ms. Dahlia Rashad, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the field of maqām music.

The MoU aims to strengthen academic, cultural, and artistic cooperation in the field of maqām music, support scientific research, artistic production, and knowledge exchange, and develop joint initiatives and projects that contribute to preserving and promoting the modal system and its musical traditions on academic and scholarly foundations. It further seeks to advance the study and practice of maqām music, foster greater awareness of its traditions, and contribute to their continuity and transmission to future generations. The joint projects and initiatives envisioned under this MoU will be carried out under the scientific and artistic supervision of the Dean of the Faculty of Music and Musicology at Antonine University, Professor Nidaa Abou Mrad.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Professor Nidaa Abou Mrad, Dean of the Faculty of Music and Musicology at Antonine University, together with Dr. Hayaf Yassine, Dr. Nathalie Abou Jaoude, and Dr. Ghassan Sahhab, faculty members of the Faculty of Music and Musicology.

عن كلّيّة الموسيقى وعلم الموسيقى في الجامعة الأنطونيّة

مؤسّسة أكاديميّة موسيقيّة رائدة في لبنان والعالم العربيّ، في مجالَي التعليم والبحث في التقاليد الموسيقيّة للمشرق وأوروبا وعلم الموسيقى والتربية الموسيقيّة وعلم الموسيقى العصبيّ والعلاج بالموسيقى وتقانة الموسيقى. وهي تقدّم للطلاب المهتمّين بدراسة الموسيقى برامج معتمدة ومتنوّعة، تهدف إلى تمكينهم من النمو ليُصبحوا مختصّين في المِهَن المرتبطة بالموسيقى.

عن ملتقى الموسيقى المقاميّة

مبادرة أُنشِئَت لإحياء التقاليد الموسيقيّة المَقَامِيَّة، في غرب آسيا وشمال إفريقيا وأوروبا العصر الوسيط، وللاحتفاء بها. وهي تدمج بين البحث والتعليم والأداء، وتهدف إلى تمكين الموسيقى المقاميّة (وهي ركن أساسيّ في الموروث الثقافيّ العربيّ) من أن يتلقّاها جمهور معاصر عريض بصورة مُؤثِّرة وملائمة للواقع.

About the Faculty of Music and Musicology

A leading academic musical institution in Lebanon and the Arab world for teaching and research about musical traditions of Mašriq and Europe, musicology, music education, neuromusicology, music therapy, and music technology. It offers students interested in studying music various accredited programs, enabling them to grow and become professionals in music-related careers.

About Maqām Festival (Multaqā Al-Mūsīqā Al-Maqāmiyya)

An initiative established to revive and celebrate maqām (modal) musical traditions of West Asia, North Africa and medieval Europe. Merging research, transmission and performance, it aims to ensure that maqām music (a cornerstone of Arab heritage) can be received in a relevant and moving way by a large contemporary audience.
